The Hungarian motorway toll administration NÚSZ uses automatic license plate recognition cameras (ANPR) to scan vehicle’s licence plates and will automatically check if a valid vignette has been activated against the NÚSZ database.
If no valid vignette is found in the database a heavy fine would be issued and be sent to the person of the vehicle registration, even across borders within the EU. Do not risk entering a toll road without a valid e-vignette.
